Suggested Activites for Year 4
LIKES AND DISLIKES
Instructions
1.Teacher divide pupils in groups
2. Each group must find the likes and dislikes as listed on the board.
3. Pupils selected in random to talk about their group dislikes and likes
Unit Two - Looking Good
TO MAKE A PAPER DOLL
Instructions
1. Pupils are divided into groups
2. Pupils listen to instruction on how to make a paper doll.
3. Pupils create the paper doll by using necessary the materials such as paper, glue.
4. Pupils present their paper doll to the class.
Unit Three - Living Healthy
TO MAKE A SCRAP BOOK ON HEALTHY AND JUNK FOOD
Instruction
1. Pupils listen to instruction on how to make a scrapbook and what are the things needed to include in the book.
2. By using the material brought from home, they work in group to create the scrap book at least 5 pages.
3. Pupils selected in random to present the scrapbook.

Instruction.
1. Teacher choose a pupil in random and tell simple story such as animal, people,place etc.

INTRODUCTION TO THE INTERNET
Instruction.
1. Teacher gives definition and exposure about internet to the pupils.
2. In pairs, the pupils surf the internet and search for information given by the teacher.
Unit Six- Moving Around.
THE PERFECT PARK
Instruction
1. Teacher gives one map to each group of pupils.
2. The pupils brainstorm about the map - where is this park?
what are the things in the park?
how do you reach there?
3. By using clues and directions, the pupils design the perfect park and draw the thing that should be included inside the park.
4. The pupils present their park to the class.
Unit Seven- Living in Harmony
FESTIVALS
Instruction
1. Teacher asks the pupils to list down all the festivals in Malaysia.
2. In groups, the pupils discuss about the festival - people, celebration, time
3. Teacher and pupils discuss about each festivals and the importance of it in the society.

Instruction
1. Teacher choose a pupil in random and tell simple story such as animal, people,place etc.
Unit Nine - Come Rain or Shine
WEATHER CHART
Instruction
1. Chart the weather for each day of the month of April. Ask the pupils for as many descriptive words as they can think of about the day! For example, is it sunny, warm, rainy, cloudy, windy, cold, etc? Place the weather card the appropriate day of the week on the My Weekly Weather Report chart.
UMBRELLA WALK
Instruction
1. The teacher talk about umbrellas with children. Explain that people use umbrellas to keep the sun and rain off. Open up an umbrella and have children see how many of them can fit under it. Go for a walk with children in the rain with the umbrella. Have them listen to the rain as it hits the umbrella. If it's sunny, go for a walk with children and the umbrella and talk about how the umbrella shades them from the sun.

PAPER TOWEL UMBRELLA
Instruction
1. Cut an umbrella shape out of a paper towel. Have the pupils drip watercolors on the shape and let dry. Add a handle to the umbrella.
RAINBOW SALAD SNACK
Instruction
1. The pupils make a “rainbow” salad using the following fruits: red strawberries, orange oranges, yellow pineapple, green apples, blue blueberries, and purple grapes. The pupils will learn the colors of the rainbow while making and eating a delicious and nutritious snack!
Unit Ten- Malaysia, My country
WHERE IS THIS PLACE?
Instruction
1. Teacher gives a map of Malaysia to each group.
2. By using the map, each group find the place in Malaysia stated by the teacher. Example find Pulau Tioman.
3. The pupils express their thoughts and experience about the place,if they have been there before.
4.Teacher repeat the process by stating other places and ask the pupils to find it.
Suggested Activities for Year 5
MAKE A FAMILY TREE
Instruction
1. Teacher divides pupils in groups.
2. In group, there must select a'Father', a "Mother',a 'Brothers' and a 'Sisters'.
3. Each group must then draw their family tree in a piece of paper.
4. Each group paste their family tree on the board, and link the relationship between them - cousin, aunt, nephew, niece WITH other group.
5. In the end, every pupils in the class will be related to each other in the family tree.
Unit Two - Travel and Adventures.
MAKE A BROCHURE
Instruction.
1. Teacher shows examples of brochures.
2. Teacher explains about the brochures - usage, information, cost etc
3. The pupils surf in the internet for examples of brochures.
4. In groups, they create a brochure using Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Paint etc.
5. The pupils present their brochures to the class.
Unit Three - Saving Our Environment
CREATE A POSTER
Instruction.
1. Teacher shows a poster about environment.
2. Teacher states the importance of saving our environment.
3. The pupils list down what the activities that we can do to save our environment ex - recyling, do not throw rubish everywhere, save water, keep public toilet clean
4. The pupils use the infromation and make a poster about the topic.
5. The pupils present the poster and convince the other pupils about the importance of environment.
Unit Four - Animal and Us
ANIMAL MASK
Instruction.
1. Teacher divides the pupils in pairs and according to the categories - farm animals, wild animals, tamed animals
2. In pairs, the pupils make an animal mask according to their categories, and list the information about the animals.
3. The pupils wear their mask and imitate the sound of the animals they wear.
Unit Five - Bountiful Harvest
SCRAP BOOK ON PLANTS AND VEGETABLES
Instruction.
1. Teacher shows examples of scrap book - information, features
2. The pupils work in group and produce their own scrap book about the topic - types of plants, vegetables, fruits (at least 5 pages)
Unit Six - Glorious Food
SET UP A RESTAURANT
Instruction
1. Teacher shows a Café picture as introduction.
2. Teacher ask questions such as what it is a picture of, what kind of food do they serve, what’s the inside like, where they think the restaurant is located… to start discussion.
- Ask what they would serve, where they would like to open a restaurant, what would bethe best thing they serve.
3. In groups, the pupils brainstorm a list of ideas for appetizers, drinks, main dishes, side dishes, and desserts.
4. The pupils create their restaurant. They must decide a name, name of owner and workers, place, and make a menu with prices.
5. Have the students visit other restaurant and choose their order.
UNIT Seven - People
BE A SUPERHERO
Instruction.
1. Teacher shows pictures of superheros. Teacher asks them who they are, what they can do and their characteristics (strength and power)
2. Individually, the pupils create their own superhero, and state their strength and personal powers.
3. The pupils present their superhero in front of the class, and tell the class about their superhero and powers.
(Teacher develops the pupils self confidence and esteem so that they proud of themselves)
Unit Eight - Invention
MAKE A ROBOT FROM BOXES
Instruction.
1) Teacher gives instructions about the activity and asks the pupils to bring the materials needed to make a robot example boxes, glue, color paper etc.
2)The pupils made their robot in groups.
3) The pupils name the robot, and list down what the robot can do
UNIT NINE - CULTURE AND TRADITION
MAKE A KITE
Instruction.
1) Teacher shows examples of kite, and tell the pupils about the history of kite and wau in our country.
2) Teacher asks the pupils to bring the materials to make a kite - colour paper, glue, bamboo sticks and so on.
3) The pupils make and decorate their own kite.
4) The pupils present their kite in front of the class.
Unit Ten - What games do you play?
SIMON SAYS
Instruction.
1. Teacher explains about the rules of the game.
2. Teacher tells the pupils what to do by beginning: "Simon says ... touch your nose / count to five , etc.". If the teacher says "touch your nose" and the pupils perform the command they are out.
(Develop the pupils listening skills)

Instruction.
1) Teacher gives compass to each group.
2) By using clues and directions, the pupils find 10 items hidden just by using the compass given - determined east, west, north, south
3) The group that find the 10 hidden item the fastest consider the winner.

SURF THE INTERNET
Instruction.
1) The pupils work in pairs and surf the internet for websites that given by the teachers

2) Teacher gives certaion topic to the pupils.
